Actually, the Greek word from it originated refers to a witness who testifies to something he has personal knowledge of. That means that as Christians, we are called to be “martyrs”

So how do we become witnesses for the lord? Here are just some ways:

  1. Share your testimony. No one can refute a personal experience. Share with others about your answered prayers, or the peace that you received when you came to know the Lord or a solution to a problem that God gave you through His Word or a priest’s homily.
  2. Preach without words. St Francis of Assisi said, “Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if you must” Instead of cursing the driver that just cut you off, pray for him. Instead of complaining like everyone over more work, do your job excellently.
  3. Stand up for Jesus. Don’t bribe the policemen who caught you for a traffic violation. Instead, offer to pray for his needs and tell him that the reason why you don’t want to give a bribe is because you want to obey the lord. Of course, it goes without saying that you should also obey traffic rules and regulations.
